Mass Gets Prepared is an opportunity for neighborhoods
within Massachusetts to work together and prepare for emergencies
and disasters before they arrive.
The coalition of community organizations participating include:
The American Red Cross, Boy Scouts of America, Citizens Emergency
Response Teams (CERT), local police and fire departments, Salvation
Army, Humane Society, Snow Emergency Response Teams (SERT),
Amateur Radio Disaster Services (ARES), volunteers working
with Hurricane Katrina evacuees and volunteers from the 10
wards (parishes) of the Boston Stake (diocese) of The Church
of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, which is coordinating
the activities.
At recent events, attendees assembled 72-Hour Emergency Preparedness Kits and gained helpful information from community and government emergency response organizations. More community events to be announced.
